As of February 11, 2015, the Deer Committee's report has been submitted to the Board of Aldermen. Comments for or against deer control as recommended in the plan should now be directed to BOA.
Questions about the Report: The Shelton Deer Committee has been disbanded as of February 11, 2015. If you have questions about the report content, contact the Natural Resource Manager, Teresa Gallagher (contact info below). Please note that the Deer Committee chose not to address the details of any possible future hunting, such as which properties may be opened for hunting, what the rules might be, and who could apply for permits. These logistic would be determined at a later date if the Board of Aldermen votes to approve hunting on city open space. At that time, a new committee may be formed to implement any recommendations that have been approved by the Aldermen.
